The resort was nice and the employees friendly, but I wouldn't recommend staying there right now. The employees didn't enforce de safety measures (masks, etc.) related to the pandemic. Staff regularly had there masks off or under their nose and a good amount of tourists did the same.I stayed a week there with my family and we all caught Covid. My mom also fell and busted her ankle and opened her knee (she spent a day at the emergency). It's slippery everywhere and there are significant gaps between the sidewalks and the grass on the resort.The beach was a bit disappointing. Lots of trash on the sand and in the water. Also, there were a lot of rocks and algae which made swimming difficult in certain areas. Vendors regularly came to sell us their garbage.The room we had was spacious and clean. We ordered room service twice during our trip and both times it never came. We complained at the concierge but nothing was done. The food at the buffet and the restaurants was pretty good and the staff offered a good service in most cases.

My spouse and I stayed at this hotel during Christmas. We checked into our first room and that room smelled like mold and mildew to the point we had to change rooms. The second room smell like mold and mildew as well however not as bad as the first round. I had to clean the room myself to make it smell better. During the process of changing rooms the concierge Lady Kaira was horrible. She told me that there were no more rooms. Just to tell me we could transfer to another room. The customer service I received from her was unacceptable. After that day we had a better experience, but I still wouldn’t stay at this hotel. The food wasn’t the best. The valets were very sweet. The entertainment was good as well.

Contratamos 3 habitaciones durante lasemana de Fin de Año con upgrade acceso directo a la piscina; 1006-1012-1014 y en todas hemos tenido diferentes deficiencias y de manera reiterada, olvidándose de los servicios más elementales de cualquier hotel y más en uno de esta categoría, que paso a relatar: varios días sin recoger la terraza, sin reponer toallas de tocador, ni gel de baño ni las bebidas de la nevera. Intentar contactar por tfno desde la habitación con recepción o el room service, es tarea imposible. En el restaurante internacional Aroma, uno de los camareros, Nestor, un absoluto maleducado, la profesionalidad brilla mucho por su ausencia, nos sentimos maltratados. Pese a todo hay personas educadas con un trato agradable, por ejemplo Armando en el buffet y Fernando Chein en piscina y toallas Es una pena que porque haya fallado algo tan básico nos vayamos con tan mal sabor de boca. Volveremos a Méjico, porque nos encanta, pero no elegiremos esta cadena hotelera.

The moment I entered the grounds of the hotel I knew I'd made the right selection! Lush vegetation, immaculate landscaping and beautiful structural pieces make Platinum Yucatan Princess an impressive resort! Our suite was decorated with modern pieces and our private balcony looked out onto tranquil crystal clear pools. Although the pandemic has impacted many resort owners' ability to upgrade everything, the staff work hard and courteously to maintain the property and satisfy the guests. The food was tasty and offered much variety- Mexican as well as non-Mexican. I look forward to returning! Gracias!

Great place to visit, friendly staff for the most part. Sometimes the staff either don't listen or don't understand your drink request. The after hours snack manager is one of the kindest, most knowledgeable people and willing to help give you a proper taste of Mexican cuisine. The club is nothing special on site, but the staff was very nice. Don't bother going to the Japanese restaurant here, the teppanyaki (and "show") is not worth your time. The steak house restaurant is very nice, but the nice seats outside cost additional money :( The beach area is small, but nice and quiet. Be prepared for a lot of people trying to sell you stuff at all times. Rooms were clean and nothing got stolen.

This hotel is very modern and the entertainment during the day and night is great! However, a couple things they need to improve on to be a five star.Concierge was very rude and unhelpful. Had issues with excursions and instead ofassisting me with any solution walked away from me and left.. I was blown away with the poor customer service.The beach is very disappointing and filled with large rocks and seed weed. Tip visit the family resort next door and go to that beach it will make the experience much better.Also be warned lots of locals on the beach and you’re constantly being bothered to purchase things.Food was very good and the restaurants.Spa would definitely recommend!Lastly, there were some great staff that did make our trip, thank you Israel(bellboy), Bryan(breakfast server) and Zeus (entertainment staff) !

Great resort and one of the more affordable ones. Staff were very friendly, the food was nice, good activities like paddle boarding, rifle shooting and Archery. I would go back there. They could provide more support with the COVID testing process because quite a few people were not getting results in time before their flights back home.

BUFFET SUCKS MOST OF THE TIME. ONE OF THE RESTAURANTS IS NOT INCLUDED. THERE’S PRESSURE ALL OVER THE RESORT AND BEACH TO SPEND MORE MONEY. WATERY/SWEET DRINKS…JUST DO SHOTS. PROS: GREAT SCENERY. VERY LONG BEACH. YOU CAN EXPLORE NEARBY RESORTS. TAO RESTAURANT IS AMAZING. TOPLESS FRIENDLY. NICE ACTIVITIES. FAST TAXI SERVICE. SOLID EXCURSION HELP. WILL NOT COME HERE AGAIN. A fairly good adults-only all inclusive. Rooms and grounds are pretty modern, all restaurants were great, apart from Aroma which had sub-par food and service. The bartenders by the pool are 10/10, top guys! The platinum area is quieter and closer to the beach - also note the pool here is much smaller and shaded throughout the day due to the position, so was fairly cold when we went in. Saying that, I’d definitely recommend staying in the regular/deluxe area. Rooms are very quiet and music at the pool is turned off by 6pm. The bellboys were also great and helped us arrange a taxi for the airport (which I’d recommend over an arranged transfer, as it’s cheaper and more flexible).

Hotel bonito ,aunque empieza a tener cosas deterioradas. La comida del bufet un desastre. Era comentario de toda la gente. Las cenas en los restaurantes de la noche muy ricas y bien presentadas. La bebida si es de marca , aunque baja ,pero usan concentrados con colorantes e hiperazucarados en lugar de fruta para hacer cualquier cosa. Muy preparado para americanos tanto en comida como en estilo. Servicio muy variable , hay gente estupenda y mucha tb q tarda en atenderte o directamente te manda a otro sitio. En la playa en 2 ocasiones no había toallas y la q lo atendía nos mandó al hotel de al lado q es d la misma cadena, pero después de estar esperando una hora!!!!!!....en un 5 estrellas como éste no debería de pasar algo asi. La playa es bonita pero no puedes casi meterte xq hay montones de piedras.

Desde que llegas y haces check in la atención es magnifica, un ambiente totalmente privado y para mayores de edad, cuenta con muchos restaurantes a la carta de comida italiana, mediterranea, texana, oriental, y un delicioso buffete con mucha variedad, en verdad todo muy rico y delicioso. Las piscinas muy privadas y unicas en diseño, los bares tienen de todo menos carajillos que es su unica debilidad, la atencion de los bartenders de nombre Jovita y Edwin fue magnifica, la de Alfonso en el restaurant de carnes y de la Paula la hostess del buffete impecables. El servicio a la habitacion 24 hrs de verdad muy bueno tambien. Algo digno de admirar es que NO HAY PREFERENCIAS A EXTRANJEROS a todos se les trata por igual y al contratar paquete DELUXE tienes acceso a los demas hoteles y restaurantes de la cadena Princess. De verdad la mejor luma de miel que pude haber compartido con mi esposa.

We just got back from a 4-day stay - I was a little nervous based on some of these bad reviews, but either they read those reviews and made the changes to correct them, or those people were just unlucky, because our stay was great.Here are my opinions on pros & cons:Pros: The entertainment every night was nice - we especially enjoyed the fire show.The beach was very "natural" feeling.You could just sit and relax and listen to the water.We did not have any seaweed or bad smell issues, like some of the reviews.It had a kind of deserted island feel - which I loved. The staff was helpful and attentive - service at the restaurants was great (it made you want to tip every time - so bring a few dollars, because you'll feel bad getting great service and not leaving anything at the table).We especially enjoyed the hibachi show at Tao - our chef was the best showman I have ever seen at a hibachi restaurant.The bed was incredibly comfortable (we wanted more pillows and they brought us two more, which added to our comfort.)The double rain shower in the Jr. Suite was the best, and super romantic.The property is well kept and the food was pretty good (except for the Rodeo Grill - we did not like the food at this restaurant - small portions and just not great.)TV channels were great (best cable I have ever gotten at a resort), which made the hubby happy during football season.And you can switch from English to Spanish on each channel depending on your language preference.(Just don't get caught off guard when you channel surf and hit the XXX stations - I wasn't expecting that.)Highly recommend the Couples Romantic Massage at the Spa -the private room with a jacuzzi and champagne after our massage (for about $280 USD) was wonderful.Cons:There were 3 random cats walking throughout the property - they had collars on and seemed to call this resort home, and they were very comfortable begging for food at the Rodeo Grill.Being allergic - this was definitely not a nice suprise.First impression of the room wasn't the greatest - I wouldn't consider the rooms "upscale".There was paint chipping and crooked pictures and dust in the closet and drawers (they were clean and comfortable, but just not what I expecting based on the pictures).Only 1 restaurant open for breakfast and lunch (due to Covid, I suppose), but the options weren't always the greatest.We did enjoy the omlet and taco stations though.(Hint: if you're a coffee drinker, order a cappucino, instead of getting the regular coffee.They are really good and hot.)The room doors are heavy and when they are slammed in the hallway - the echo will wake you up.And there's an incredible echo on the hallway, so if you're wanting a quiet expericence, make sure they don't put your room near the loud pool and hope you don't have noisy neighbors.

Although the rooms and property in general were okay that’s about it. I’ve been going to Cancun and playa for 18 years and the service and food here were the worst I’ve ever had. I don’t recall a single employee knowing anything about any question I asked during my stay. Don’t plan on eating chips and salsa here, as they apparently don’t know what that is. And don’t ask to get served any food by the pool unless you want to be laughed at. Also, beach towels were incredibly hard to find, either they were just out of them or no one was working the counter.I’m not usually one to have a bad time but I will never stay here again. It was all inclusive but I received a random $149 charge to my cc when I got home. It will be easier for me to just make an extra $150 at work than calling to figure out what this charge is, since they arnt helpful.

My family and I have been going to Mexico since I was a little girl and normally go to either the Royal Sands in Cancun or Royal Haciendas in Playa Del Carmen. This year we decided to switch it up for my brothers 30th birthday and go to the Yucatán Princess. The staff was so incredibly bad and completely useless. Don’t count on a solid experience here. They couldn’t even supply us with beach towels or tell us where to get a covid test so we could return to the US. I regret spending money here. We will be returning to the royal resorts after this experience.

My stay here was amazing and all of the workers were very nice and polite. The buffet staff were amazing (Bryan gave us an amazing service for breakfast and lunch every day that we were there). The bartenders were amazing. They were able to keep up with our drinks and needs. The room that we stayed at had a bit of wear compared to the rest of the facilities at the resot but it was clean and organized. The entertainers at the resort were AMAZING and they were all very fun and entertaining. The dancers at night were also AMAZING. Their dances, shows, and coordination was very professional and you can tell that they took the time to practice and coordinate everything. The hotel is connected to a sister resort that is family friendly and it was also very nice and fun. Also, there were a lot of cute little animals and a few very friendly cats. I've been to other adults only resorts and this one was one of the best when it came to service and entertainment. I definitely recommend.

What a fantastic time and beautiful place!!! Keep in mind when booking, the property is split between two vibes… there’s one major pool that’s known as the “quiet” pool: swim up bar and beautiful but no music or DJ and tends to be an older crowd. Then there’s the “loud” pool: DJ playing music all the time, 2 level bar (half swim up half walk up) and this is where all the pool activities are. I did the guacamole making activity, bracelet making, beer chugging, and FOAM PARTY (THE FOAM PARTY WAS LIT!!!). We had a swim up pool room in the “quiet” portion and if we do return, we decided we would do a swim up pool room in the “loud” part bc that’s more our vibe. All the activity leaders were amazing!! The main lady (I’m so sorry I forgot her name but one detail I remember is she said if she ever had kids, she’s name her daughter Sophia 💛) was so much fun and really did well to lead the fun! This place is also connected to a 5 star sister resort that you can take advantage of all the amenities and I highly suggest to do this! But we did prefer the adult only resort.

Currently staying here and have not been impressed at all. Upon arrival for our honeymoon they put us on a room with 2 double beds, yippy. From there we waited 2 days to be transferred to a room with a king. I also ordered the love box assuming it was a romantic box of chocolates and flowers or something along those lines but it turns out it’s a special menu dinner which I clearly missed on the website because we wouldn’t eat any of the food offered on this special menu, therefore I would have saved myself the $130 price tag. However after not eating any of it and complaining to the concierge she did nothing in terms of a refund or credit towards anything else. I come from customer service and I just found her response to s customer complaint to be handled extremely poorly. If someone spends s couple thousand dollars to come to your resort you should ensure their overall happiness to avoid 1 Star reviews. Overall staff has been friendly but the quality of the food has not been impressive at all. Hot food has come out of every restaurant at like warm at best.

* Honest Review*I was a bit hesitant to book here at first because of the bad reviews I kept seeing but I saw a lot of amazing reviews and decided to still book. Keep in mind I’m a pretty laid back traveller, I go with the flow and I’m very understanding but comfort is important for me.THE GOOD- most of the staff are very helpful and kind. Especially Lesli and Sergio in the front. - very beautiful areas on the property. - drinks were usually great. - security was good. - Spa experience was amazing. Especially the massage! Hydrotherapy was not what I expected tbh but I still had an overall great experience the spa. - TAO restaurant was great. -the entertainment staff was great. The main pool was usually fun. - I only went to two shows the burlesque and party time shows which were excellent. - getting the covid test was easier than some of the other review said. They had a barcode and you scan it and put in your info , the lab emails you back a time for your appt. you take a shuttle to the sister resort ( 3 mins drive) and you do your test. I paid 90 USD for pcr.THE BAD - I had to change my room on the second day. building 4 was very loud! I’m not talking about partying loud.. early in morning you could hear everything the staff was doing outside the room, animals at night ( couldn’t sleep). Did not get the usual restful sleep I get in hotels. The bathroom showers didn’t look clean and I found a cockroach in bathroom on the first day. I would recommend booking a swim out room here.. the rooms are much better maintained than the solo or “deluxe “ rooms. -The food wasn’t great but was not the worst. I really only enjoyed 2 meals from the restaurants and the buffet was the best choice. - the beach is not great but I just walked 5 mins down to the sister resort ( which you can access ) and the beach was much better.Generally my stay was okay. It would’ve been excellent if they made slight renovations to the rooms and bathroom. Also if the food was a bit better it could’ve been 4.5 stars with the exception of the beach.

There's no reason why i should give this place less than 5 stars. Maybe i was lucky but the staff the service were all amazing. Wifi hot water and beautiful rooms. All the essentials and all you can drink i mean it's all inclusive with tons of activities and parties. The cat park was beautiful. The night time is mesmerizing. I recommend just be upfront with what you expect and ask a lot of questions before purchase.

The event staff were fantastic and very friendly and generally the extra staff for things such as the spa, or activities, or bar were great. The actual restaurants were great but were only available for dinner, which is understandable. However, it would be nice to have at least one other option other than the buffet for lunch. There was supposed to be a grill that was open for lunch but it was never explained to us why it was closed during our entire stay. With most of the good out of the way. There was a lot of bad with this place. First the front desk staff are very unhelpful and unwilling to do anything outside of what is normal. They seem annoyed by any requests and generally seem disgruntled. The buffet is pretty bad as most of the food is not kept even remotely warm and the breaded foods are often burnt. The staff for the buffet were very friendly which was the only good part. There is a second buffet on the family friendly side which is significantly better quality and as a guest on the adult only side you are allowed to go over there, but unlikely that any of the front desk people will inform you of this. Same goes for activities that I would have loved to have done but only found out about from a guest that had been there before on our last day. The last bone I have to pick is with the fact that they will nickel and dime you at every turn if possible, which is kind of insane considering how much you're being charged for the room and all inclusive. In all I would highly recommend staying at another all inclusive resort or better yet and I truly mean Way better get a fancy suite in the city of Playa Del Carmen and eat at a different place every night and it will be cheaper and insanely better service.

Absolutely loved the service we received! Everyone there was very helpful and super nice. The rooms were just like the pictures. I also liked the fact that the beach was pretty close. There was a lot of seaweed but they had people to “fish out” the seaweed towards the shore which I thought was thoughtful. We also had access to their sister resorts. My only complaint is that I wish they had more vegetarian options at their restaurants and buffet. But overall we loved it!

It was a great experience and the Hotel was very well taken care of. The pool, drinks were great. The rooms were pretty good. The people and atmosphere made it very welcoming. This time around it seems lots of places had issues with Seaweed on the beach which made it impossible to enjoy. Luckily, they have so many pools that you will find something that suits your swim needs. Only real downer and possibly the most disappointed was the food of their “main restaurants”. It was just bad. The pics will describe a different story but the taste of the food was just really bad. Saw many people just walk up and leave. I wish they can just have a full blown Mexican style restaurant and give tourist an Mexican experience instead of just catering to what we suppose to want. Their taco stand at the Buffet was really good. Overall the staff are the start of this place. The building can use more art and colors , specially in the hallways ands steps. Possibly will be back but doubtful since Mexico has so many good places to visit, is a one chance try and go.

Si querías más movimiento, podías acceder al resto de las instalaciones Princess.Mi nota es un 9 de 10. El punto que queda es, en primer lugar, porque no se podía bañar en la playa (debido al sargazo), y porque algunos restaurantes cerraban por la noche sin previo aviso (en especial, el italiano).Las instalaciones y la habitación, una pasada.Lo recomiendo 100%. First time traveling since pandemic and glad I chose to stay here. Great staff although entertainment could’ve been better. Food was great especially the tacos. You have to make reservations for the restaurants at night. Please do so in advance as I got lucked out a few times. Pool bartender Ricardo was awesome and very attentive. Will def recommend family/friends to come here.
